Travel ideas for July

School is out and summer is in full swing! Europe's family holiday season really begins in July. The weather is marvellously hot, the BBQs are out, and the beaches are packed. Looking to beat the crowds and go further afield this year? Our local experts have chosen some of the most unique and original destinations to visit in July.

The Golden Circle in North India
From ancient traditions and artistic heritage to beautiful landscapes and exotic cuisine, India– a country the size of a continent–has plenty to explore. From April through June the country is extremely hot, but by July the temperatures have cooled down. Far from the monsoon season as well, this the ideal time to visit North India. Our local agents advise a tour of ‘the golden circle’, to explore India’s three most popular destinations. Starting at the fascinating capital Delhi, you will then head to the infamous Taj Mahal in Agra before finally visiting Jaipur’s buzzing palaces and markets.

Iceland
If you’re looking to escape the heat, Iceland is the perfect choice with cool, pleasant temperatures and endlessly long days. Our Icelandic local agents recommend swimming in the hot water springs, visiting Húsavík, the European whale-watching capital, admiring the dramatic cliffs at Látrabjarg and making the most of the summer sun that only goes down from midnight to 3AM!

Tanzania
July is the dry season in Eastern Africa, which means it is the best time for a safari in Tanzania! Spot the big five at Serengeti National Park as well as buffalo, wildebeest and zebras on the grassy plains of Lake Manyara. 400 species of birds, as well as rare black rhino and black mane lion can be spotted in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Zanzibar is also worth a visit, with sandy beaches and crystal-clear water, it is home to the red colobus monkey.

 Borneo
How about Borneo in July? This exotic island boasts pristine beaches, jungles and volcanoes. Bursting with wildlife, it is home to the elephant, proboscis monkey and of course the orangutan! The multi-cultural population is reflected in the food–enjoy seafood at Chinese restaurants, Malaysian chicken satay and Indonesian spicy sambal at the local markets!

 Local Advice
Looking to see the highlights of India in a week? Or perhaps a honeymoon in July to an exotic island of your choice. Our local agents live in their destination, so can give you the best advice on when to visit their country and help you to organise the dream holiday, tailor-made to your needs!
