Be well-prepared for your holiday

You must start your adventure in Tibet with a stopover in Lhasa, the capital. There you will visit the Potala Palace, perched on its hill, at almost 130 metres high. With its red and white colours, the Dalai Lama’s winter residence, classed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the strongest symbol of Buddhist culture. Its architecture which blends naturally into the surrounding scenery, is a testament to the beauty of Tibetan art. A little further on, in the streets of Barkhor, you will escape into the midst of the pilgrims and admire the colourful faces of the Tibetan buildings. And now on to visit a place of worship, the Samye monastery. The enchantment starts as soon as you glimpse its first stones. Because it is at the bottom of the sand dunes, it is found crouched in the greenery, the famous monastic complex. In this sombre and red place surrounded by monks, you will even hear, if you listen closely, the melody of prayers punctuated by the sound of several Tibetan horns or bells. If you are a nature lover and a trekking afficionado, you are surely considering trekking to Everest base camp. Observing the highest mountain on Earth is a rare spectacle!
